Inception

I went into last night's Inception screening with high expectations. This summer movie season has been garbage for the most part so it was up to Chris Nolan to save it for me.

Inception is my favorite film of the year so far. The dream visuals are stunning and Hans Zimmer's blaring score built up the suspense throughout. I don't want to give away any plot points but I will say some elements reminded me a bit of Shutter Island (which I did not like) but here it worked.

All the actors fit their parts perfectly. It was nice to see Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in roles I wouldn't expect them in. Nolan developed enough action sequences for those people who are saying this movie is too smart to be a huge blockbuster. Whether or not most people will understand it is another story.
